People sometimes struggle to say my gamer tag, but I always thought it was quite easy.
“Ama”(Im a) “phat”(fat) “kid”, pretty simple when its broken up, for short I don’t mind being called Ama.
I’m 28 years old, so not much of a “kid” in age but definitely in mind. Married to my beautiful wife K177YFly, who I adore, and we have 2 beautiful girls.
Gaming for me has always been apart of my life, for as long as I can remember. I think the first time I picked up a controller was back in infant school in the after school group, it was a Playstation One. From that day I’ve always been a Playstation fan. Playing the classics like, Rayman, Lara Croft Tomb Raider and Abes Odyssey.
One of my most memorable experiences gaming was being stuck on Lara Croft, not being able to solve 1 of the puzzles to progress. My dad would sit with me and help when I got stuck, but this puzzle baffled us both. That night, my dad had a dream about that puzzle burst into my room and said, “I’ve solved it give me the controller”, he took the controller from me, and to my amazement he actually solved it – from a dream!
I stayed with Playstation throughout my whole gaming life, all the way to Playstation 4. Until about 3 years ago when a friend convinced me to buy a gaming laptop, money only allowed me to get a basic laptop a Lenovo Ideapad Y700, 610 graphics with a 14″ screen. The first game I ever bought was Ark Survival Evolved and from this my love and hatred for survival games started. After 500+ hours on Ark, I expanded my gaming library to some of my favourites like Squad, Rocket League and Paladins.
From having only Playstation consoles, I now have a full ensemble of gaming consoles. PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and my new laptop Acer Predator with a 1050Ti graphics card and a 17″screen. Plus as of last Christmas I was very lucky to get a HTC Vive VR headset, which I don’t play as much as I’d like to because the set up is quite long winded.
So I think it’s safe to say I’m a gamer at heart and I hope I always will be even into my old age.
